By accessing or using our website, services, donation portals, or application forms (collectively, the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use our Site.

1. Legal Entity & Non-Profit Status

Harveys Rescue House is organized and operated as a tax-exempt charitable organization recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the United States Internal Revenue Code. Donations made to Harveys Rescue House are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

2. Informational & Educational Purposes Only (No Veterinary Advice)

All content published on this Site—including articles, pet descriptions, care instructions, and behavioral guidance—is provided solely for general informational and educational purposes. No Veterinary Relationship: Nothing on this Site establishes a veterinarian-client-patient relationship.

Seek Professional Care: Always consult a licensed veterinarian or qualified animal behaviorist regarding medical concerns, diets, or behavioral needs for any animal.

3. Pet Listings, Inquiries, and Adoptions

Availability Not Guaranteed: Listings of animals available for adoption or foster care are updated regularly but may change without notice. We cannot guarantee that an animal listed on the Site is still available.

Inquiries Are Not Binding: Submitting an adoption inquiry, application, or pre-screening form does not guarantee approval, reserve an animal, or constitute a binding contract.

Adoption Discretion: Harvey's Rescue House reserves the sole right to approve or deny any adoption or foster application at our discretion to safeguard the welfare of the animals in our care.

Separate Formal Agreement: All finalized adoptions are governed exclusively by our separate, executed Adoption Contract, which supersedes any informal communication or listing descriptions on this Site.

4. Donations, Payments, and Refund Policy

Third-Party Processing: We utilize reputable third-party payment processors (such as Stripe, PayPal, or Donorbox) to process charitable contributions and fees. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.

Finality of Donations: Because charitable donations are immediately applied toward animal rescue, veterinary care, food, and shelter operations, all donations are considered final and non-refundable. If you believe a donation was submitted in error or made fraudulently, contact us immediately at harveys.rescuehouse@gmail.com

Tax Receipts: Substantiation receipts for tax purposes will be issued electronically to the contact information provided during the transaction.

5. Volunteer and Foster Applications

Submitting an application or waiver to volunteer or foster through this Site constitutes an expression of interest only. Acceptance into volunteer or foster programs requires vetting, background checks (where applicable), and execution of our dedicated Volunteer/Foster Agreement and Release of Liability.

6. Intellectual Property Rights

All materials displayed on the Site—including text, photographs of rescue animals, logos, graphics, and layout—are the property of Harveys Rescue House or our content licensors and are protected under applicable copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws. You may view and print content from the Site strictly for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or license any website content (especially animal images or rescue stories) for commercial purposes without our express written permission.

7. User Submissions and Conduct

If you submit photos, stories, comments, or testimonials to our Site: You grant Harvey's Rescue House a perpetual, non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and publish that material across our communication and fundraising channels. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE GREATER OF $100.00 USD OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US (EXCLUDING CHARITABLE GIFTS) THROUGH THE SITE IN THE PAST TWELVE MONTHS.
